Will Canadians still buy American products?

It’s childish and fantasy. Maybe instead ask why your leaders are so afraid of Il Douche? You keep promising “wait till we all stand together against Mango Mussolini!” But they still don’t! There’s been crickets from the other NATO countries as Trump humiliated and rakes poor Zelensky through the coals. As you can see I am no Trump fan but maybe you guys should recognize too your leaders act like huge pussies in front of him. Yes they laugh behind his back, we know, but those giggles are not worth much if they’re going to kiss his fat ass anyway.

I just don’t see enough people no longer viewing Hollywood films (besides you’d be hurting all the Canadian and non American directors and acting talent!) to make a difference and beside, remember Republicans HATE Hollywood and Disney and the vast majority of popular US musicians! They’d say their loss of sales is because of people raging against “woke liberalism”, not Trump. McDonald’s and KFC aren’t going to be shuttering locations en masse. Besides boycotting major US businesses with headquarters, factories and stores in Canada would hurt Canadian workers if these places close down. Anyway I bet you anything millions of Canadians will still use Apple products, do searches via Google, use Amazon, and shop for jeans and clothes at Gap and other major US brands. They’ll still listen to US music. You’re putting too much faith in the average mindless consumer.

I don’t think it’ll come to much. People are lazy. Look at everyone who claims to hate Musk (especially now) and Zuckerberg yet airs this on their platforms like X/Twitter and Facebook and won’t be cancelling their Instagram accounts soon because showing off how awesome you want people to think your life is and whatever you’re about to eat and spying on what your former classmates are doing in adulthood is too addictive.

I’m wondering about attachment and transference with the therapist and the idea of escape and fantasy? How much do you think your strong feelings, constant thoughts, desires to be with your therapist are a way to escape from your present life? I wonder if the transference serves another purpose than to show us our wounds and/or past experiences, but is a present coping strategy for managing what we don’t want to face (even if unconsciously) in the present—-current relationships, life circumstances, etc. Can anyone relate to this concept of escape in relation to their therapy relationship? How does this play out for you?

Some here insist they will never visit the US again or buy anything American even oddly from brands and companies that have made their anti Trump positions clear and support the Democrats.
